Lebanon Chronicles is a free game for learning spoken Lebanese Arabic, on the web and on iPhone. This page says what we keep about you, and why.
What we keep
- Your email address and your password. The password is stored hashed, never as you typed it.
- The name you choose, in Latin and Arabic letters, your chat colour and avatar.
- Your age, your gender (or "prefer not to say") and your country, asked at sign-up.
- Your progress in the game: the story, the mini-games, your flashcards, your achievements.
- What you write in the game: chat messages, poems, your own flashcard decks, and the reports you send us, with any screenshots you attach.
- The players you block in the chat, and the messages you report.
Why
To run your account and the game, to send you a password reset email when you ask for one, to moderate the chat, to answer your reports, and to see, in total, how the game is used.
What we do not do
No ads. No tracking. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone. Emails are sent through our email provider, and the game runs on our own server. Our server's technical logs keep the address (IP) of each request for a short time, for security.
What other players see
Your name, your player number, your look and, unless you switch it off, your country's flag in the chat. Your profile too, unless you hide it in My profile. When you report a message, only the moderators see that you reported it.
Deleting your account
In the game, open the menu, then My profile, then Delete my account. It removes your account, your progress, your chat messages and your poems. Our backups are kept for 14 days, then they are gone too.
